This interactive map shows risk levels for different natural disasters including wildfire, hurricane, flood, and tornado in each state as well as the combined total natural disaster risk across the nation.

Data for these risk levels was gathered from sources like FEMA, state databases, and others to compile individual state scores based on normalizing the different natural disaster risk on a 1-100 scale. Seismic disasters are not accounted for in these levels. Data is current as of August 2019.

Explore the different risk levels across the nation by selecting a state to show a summary of the different risks for each natural disaster. Selecting “Enable PACE” will show the impact in reduced risk if PACE were adopted and utilized in just 15% of all eligible buildings within the state, which applies the estimated reduction in property damage and relocation costs in the event of natural disasters as a result of PACE resiliency investment.
